A psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWP) will assess work-related mental health issues and measure the levels of risk to staff.
Regardless of the cause or aggravating factors of the mental health issue, employers have a legal responsibility to help their employees. Where a risk is identified, steps must be taken to remove it or reduce it as far as reasonably practicable through timely referral for specialist assessment or treatment (HSE 2022).
The PWP will assess level of risk and develop a management plan, making/supporting any referrals to specialist services.
Self-help information and routes to safety will be given to all individuals on completion of assessment.
