What is Occupational Health?
Occupational health (OH) is a specialist clinical service that keeps people well at work both physically and mentally. Contributing to the productivity and profitability of the organisation through investment in the health and wellbeing of the workforce.
OccWellbeing is the trusted provider of Occupational Health Services to CHCPCIC and its subsidiaries including its primary care practices, care homes, pharmacy, and community health care services.
What services does OccWellbeing provide?
Prevention:
- The prevention of ill health caused or exacerbated by work for example immunisation against infectious disease, health screening and workstation assessment.
- Management of infectious disease outbreaks, contact tracing, testing and treatment.
Fitness for work:
- Sickness absence / ill-health affecting work performance.
- Ill-health retirement.
- Management referrals.
- Advise on workplace adjustments.
Pre-employment / new entrant health checks:
- Pre-placement questionnaire.
- Consideration of health concerns / potential job hazards and any Equality Act implications.
- Advise on workplace adjustments and provision of a fitness for work report.
Rehabilitation:
- Support a return to work after illness and maintain work attendance.
- Physiotherapy assessment and treatment programmes.
- Psychological wellbeing assessment, signposting and support.
Advice and support for people who are:
- Off work due to ill health.
- Returning to work following sickness absence.
- Managing long term medical conditions at work.
The promotion of health and wellbeing in the workplace:
- Working in partnership with the organisation in promoting the health and wellbeing approach amongst staff and managers.
